Day 4 of Summer Lovin'! Participation Post and Updates

Visit Read-a-Thon Central for more information!

Share a quote from your current read or tell us about a book that really pulled on your heart strings. What was it about that book/quote that made you cry?

Oh boy, this one is a bit tough for me. I am an emotional reader--I get sucked into books to where my poor husband sometimes has to say my name so many times before it registers that someone is actually speaking to me. LOL I live and breathe the characters as I am reading their stories, that those beautifully written words just meld their way into my psyche that I cannot help but release the emotion. Sometimes it is laughing, other times tears and occasionally groans of frustration.

I remember vividly having tears flow down my face while reading Laurie Halse Anderson's Speak. I had my fan girl moment with her (with a hug!) this past weekend and it probably is one of the biggest highlights of my career. This book is one of my defining moments in life and I cannot recommend it enough.

  1. Hi, I love Laurie Halse Anderson. Have you read her book Fever? I need to read the one you recommend asap. Thanks for sharing. Good luck with the rest of the week. :) I have really enjoyed this week. Once again I am suprised about how big the blogosphere really is. I had not idea there were so many book lovers out here blogging until this week.

    1. It would be a spoiler to say...there are several parts that did...once towards the midpoint of the book then again at the end. It is a fantastic book that really tears you apart but rebuilds you and leaves you with a sense of hope.

      Happy Reading!
