Feature & Follow (#9): One Book Forevermore...Say It Isn't So!

A Weekly Feature by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read--come join us as we learn about our fellow bloggers by answering a weekly question.
If you could only have ONE – one book – for the rest of your life. Don’t cheat…what would it be?
For the record: this one is such a HARD QUESTION!! I mean, I am a mother of one child...but I could in my head equate it to be picking a favorite child. Perhaps that is a bit melodramatic but it does feel a bit like that to me. Does it to you?

Well, playing fairly to this week's question: I am going to pick a title that I can turn to that can always get me out of a reading funk. I imagine that if I only ever got to read one book for the rest of my life, it would be this one just because of that single feature:

Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite Things to Make a Reader's Life Easier

A weekly meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish, we answer the weekly prompt then visit others who have as well. Come have fun with us, meet new friends and discover new-to-you blogs and books!

Today we are featuring our Top Ten Things that Make Your Life as a Reader/Blogger Easier. I have to say I am really looking forward to reading all the posts I can this week (as I do every week) because I am sure there are things out there that I am not using that might be handy. :-)

Without a doubt, I favorite Reader/Blogger "thing" is GoodReads. I am sure I will be one of many that mention it today. If you are not familiar with GoodReads, be sure to check it out--there is a whole new world waiting to be explored.

Other things that are favorites of mine:

A-Z Book Survey: A Little Bit More About Me

Started by Jamie at The Perpetual Page-Turner, this fun survey is a great way to get to know your fellow bloggers.

Author you’ve read the most books from:

According to Goodreads, the author I have the most books logged from is Nora Roberts. I am not surprised by this honestly—she has been a favorite for ages.

Best Sequel Ever:

I would say at the moment, the one standing out in my mind is Sweet Peril by Wendy Higgins as the tension is building for the climax in book three, Sweet Reckoning.

Top Ten Tuesdays: Favorite Settings

A weekly meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish, we answer the weekly prompt then visit others who have as well. Come have fun with us, meet new friends and discover new-to-you blogs and books!

So this week is to focus on a setting but I actually wrote this as settings in general--so bare with me! I did not realize I wrote it differently until this evening and since I am on vacation this week, I am not going to re-write it. So, here are settings I typically enjoy:

1) Regency Britain: I am a fan of this historical time period

2) Nantucket or coastal towns in general: I'm enjoying books set in coastal towns. I think I would like to live in a coastal community

3) Ireland: a longing to go home, my Irish ancestry is something I am proud of and really only starting to explore...so I love reading books set within Ireland

Top Ten Tuesday: I Wish There Were Sequels to...

A weekly meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish, we answer the weekly prompt then visit others who have as well. Come have fun with us, meet new friends and discover new-to-you blogs and books!

My list includes:

1) How My Summer Went Up in Flames by Jennifer Doktorski--it was a great to see the amount of growth that Rosie goes through, I would like to see how she continues and what decisions she makes next.

2) Dirty Little Secret by Jennifer Echols--loved the characters, I would love more of their story.

3) DUFF: Designated Ugly Fat Friend by Kody Keplinger--I'm curious to what happens to Bianca's friends and how her and Wesley's relationship turns out

Book Blogger Confessions: Vlogging

"Book Blogger Confessions is a meme that posts the first Monday of every month, where book bloggers "confess" and vent about topics that are unique to us. Feel free to share, vent and offer solutions. Just keep it respectful - no bashing authors or other bloggers! If you want to participate just grab our button and include it in your post with a link to either Midnyte Reader or For What It's Worth."

This week's topic up for discussion is:

Vlogging. Have you ever vlogged (video blogging)? Why or why not? What do think makes for an interesting vlog? How does a book review vlog compare to a written review in your opinion? What are few of your favorite book review/author vlogs?
