Bout of Books 11.0

Where the heck has the summer gone?! I cannot believe the lack of posts this summer. I have been S-L-A-M-M-E-D at work that I just have not had the time to devote to writing posts. I have been running drafting reviews on my phone after finishing up books though so hopefully I will be able to roll some of those out now that things are starting to settle down.

I am really looking forward to Bout of Books 11.0!!! I am looking forward to reading, reviewing and visiting others this next week!! Are you familiar with Bout of Books? If not, here is the blurb about it:
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 18th and runs through Sunday, August 24th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 11 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

 Goals for the Week:

  • Reading: as much as I can! I know I have several books I hope to finish including books 2 and 3 in the Outlander series. :)
  • Visiting: at least 5 bloggers everyday. It is important to me to cheer others on.
  • Chats: I work during both Monday's and Saturday's chats, but I put Wednesday's Twitter chat on my schedule. The Twitter Chats are one of the best features of Bout of Books!
  • Challenges: I am hoping to do at least one or two of them during the week!
  • Other Miscellanous Things: I want to update my reading challenges! I am so far behind. I have been tracking on paper--totally old fashion, I know--but, I have a pad beside my computer at my desk so I could make if I was reading a book that worked for a challenge. I hoping I can update them this week.
What is on your list of goals this week? Comment below and leave me your link so I can visit you! :)

  • I wrote out some blog plans for the fall :-) I am trying to restructure and add some other ideas. More on that another time.
  • On a FUN note, I visited a lovely bookstore after spending time with a colleague today for lunch on our annual we survived summer reading.

Wrap Up Thoughts:

Crash and burn...good thing Bout for Books is a read-a-thon where you cannot fail because it as been a hot mess this week. I did not have a single chance to pop on and look at the challenges nor really visit others hardly. I hope everyone had fun.  I did get to interact a bit on Twitter on the off time, but sadly missed the Twitter Chats because I worked during all three of them. I thought I would be off during one of them but that was not the case.

I will look forward to the next Bout of Books--I always put them on my calendar and they are always like a shining light of hope on it. I hope the next one will provide a little bit more time to do more.

    1. It is so much fun! It is essentially just a reading challenge to spur you into reading as much as you can in a week. You share it with others on a blog, twitters, GoodReads or wherever. :) Jump in and join us!

  2. I'm in the same boat! Between work and everything else, I just can't seem to find the time (or the energy) to sit down and write posts. I really need to try and take some notes after I finish a book so that at least writing reviews a week or two after finishing them is not too difficult.

Good luck with the read-a-thon, I'll try to come back next week and see how you're getting on :)

Here's what I'll be reading next week

    1. I just started doing that after having to let so many reviews go because I would get too far behind. It was one of the "solutions" I came up with in bed late one night. :)

Good luck this week and thank you for stopping by! I will pop over to visit you. Happy Reading!
